PROFILES IN ACTIVISM
Ages 16-29
Fall 2023, JHU-MICA Film Centre
In this videography workshop, student fellows will create profiles of Baltimore social justice activists, bringing attention to those who often work quietly and out of view to effect meaningful change. They’ll meet advocates for a range of causes in a range of categories, from food equity to LGBTQ rights to youth engagement to violence prevention, learning about their goals and the challenges they encounter, and also about their backgrounds, the experiences that directed their paths. Fellows will work together as crew with the instructor, researching, interviewing, shooting B-roll, and editing to make several short final videos. Profiles will be shared on social media, the program website, and at a public screening. Limited to 9 student fellows.
